I am an independent Innovation and New Media Strategist based in Toronto, Canada. My playground is the nexus between emerging technology, the art of innovation and daily life. I am also a journalist, a blogger, a poet, and an aspiring author.

I believe that life is too precious to spend chained to a desk, and that the world is a vibrant and wonderful place just waiting to be explored. Inspiration and creativity can only truly blossom when the mind is given permission to play.

For me, playing is surrounding myself with the theories, dreams, opinions and ideas of people who inspire me. These people ignite my own passions to learn more, do more, be more and help plant my feet firmly in the realm of possibility. There is nowhere else I’d rather be.

I graduated in 2006 with an Honors in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business from the University of Western Ontario. I spent one year with the Canadian think tank New Paradigm as the Member Service Associate for the Net Generation Research Investigation, a three million dollar syndicated study examining the impact of technology on today’s youth.

During this time, I was also the Research Coordinator for Don Tapscott’s best selling book “Wikinomics: how mass collaboration changes everything.” I am currently working with Don on his latest book “Grown up Digital.”

In 2007, as a member of the New Product Development team at Hotspex, an online market research company, I helped develop new products that would help clients such as MTV and Proctor & Gamble make better strategic decisions.

I am active in the Toronto collaborative networking scene and currently help to develop projects for The Overlap, a community of individuals interested in combining cross-disciplinary expertise to tackle some the challenges of sustainable innovation. I am also a Partner with Manara International Resources, a consulting company that uses a holistic approach to help companies utilize their untapped potential.

I love to write and I recently finished a term on the Toronto Star Community Editorial Board. I have also blogged for Shinyshiny.tv, one of the first technology blogs written by women for women. I am currently a regular contributor with suite101.com.

In my spare time, I enjoy doing Yoga, keeping fit, reading, indulging in prime time television and working on my first novel.
